Movies of Certik

Certik herding turkeys

”Certik is a strong male when it comes to working cattle, but he is so gentle around ducks, pups and my kids, like completely different dog. He has a wonderful temperament around other dogs, people and children. Certik is such a unique and thinking dog.
He loves challenges and learning new things.
What ever he does, he put his heart out there to make sure it is done right. He does not get distracted at trials because of other dogs or strangers, loud noises etc. When it is time to work, he gets focused and watches me very closely, so he will not make mistakes. He is a great pleasure to train and trial, so easy.

"Chona is still young with 9months but yet I will say that she is the best dog I ever had! She is so positive and happy, she shows a lot of good abilities when we are training obedience and doing search/tracking, it comes naturally with her. She is very concentrated and intense when I give her tasks and she does all the best she can to make it right. But she is not stressing or “loose her mind” and she is quiet. Chona is very easy to reward (especially with food and toys) and to get contact with, she is not let herself be disturbed about different environment or other dogs, she is focused on the training and me. On the local working dog club we have tested her on gunshots, both under activity and passive shots and she is totally safe, she has no reaction at all.

Chona is very funny, her little tail wiggles all the time and she loves people, especially her friends that she knows well but she like to get in contact with new people too.
At our property she shows guardian instincts but will stop when I tell her to quit and then she greets them, I will not say that she is reserved with strangers but she is not “over social” either, she let herself be handled.

Unfortunately we have not got the opportunity to start the herding yet, but this coming spring I will get some ducks to start with and take part in the local trainings. I know at least that Chona has herding instincts, she has showed it on my cousins rabbits and when she plays with other dogs she show a lot of eye and she wants to keep them in a group;)

Both Sabine and I have been following Certik and had him on our mind for several years. We think his abilities and personality will compliment Chona in a very good way, they character have many similarities! Both Chona and Certik have a background with strong herding dogs. We will know more in about one or two years, the plan is to travel overseas to meet Certik, his owner and her other dogs.

Pedigree will be published soon
